About Us

The Eight Pillars of Intelligent Product Design are a hands-on methodology seeking to facilitate better, safer, friendlier, and more efficient product designs.
Being cultivated for seven years by Take Digital, an information technology business from Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, and for more than twenty years by its founder Ken Ivanov, SEQUENCETM is the product of our constant urge to ask important questions that lay beyond the scope of business-as-usual.

Why, with the same level of investment, some products perform better than others? Why do we adore Macs, respect Linux, and get annoyed by Windows? Why a failure in one product causes a minor setback, while a similar failure in the other leads to catastrophic consequences?
We figured that the answers we were looking for have a lot to do with practices that an organisation follows when conceiving, designing, and manufacturing the product. Way too often, businesses focus on practical, measurable objectives at hand – such as time, cost, and quality – while staying oblivious of bigger and less tangible objectives of inherent efficiency, purpose, and value.
This is not to say that SEQUNCE does not focus on costs, or quality, or TTM. In fact, it’s quite the opposite. It just pushes the organisation into taking a step back and finding the answer to “why” before going ahead with the “how”. It helps the organization understand what it really wants its product to be for its customers first, instead of just going ahead with often suboptimal and potentially costly “we have always done it that way” decisions. It provides a foundation that helps the organisation build more efficient processes and apply its efforts in the best possible direction.
The ultimate purpose of SEQUENCE is ambitious, but ultra-focused and very simple (fully in line with the SEQUENCE principles themselves): relieve the world of mediocre, unsafe, and wasteful designs. We don’t deserve any less.
